La judicialización de las demandas villeras. Justicia, Política y Acción Colectiva en las villas de Buenos Aires

In this research, we have been focused in the relationship between justice and politics, in the context of Buenos Aires villas, by analyzing the judicialization of social demands related to different aspects of urban/ citizen condition of its people. We refer to particular practices found between people living at villas de emergencia, their politic organization and other people involved in carrying into the judicial context demands involving a variety of objectives: the claim of the propriety of the lands where citizens live, the establishment of electoral mechanisms that guarantee transparency during elections of political representatives, and providing goods and urban services which are already provided to other citizens. With this, we expect to reflect about different processes brought about in Buenos Aires by the conflict related to “the right to the city”, making focus in subjective and inter subjective issues involved in environmental and home problem, in particular, kinds of popular politicity and in the possibilities of construction of collective actions following this process, taking in account the juridical activism displayed by social demands. This research took as unit of analysis the social demands at the villas, establishing a distinction between the “historic villas” and “recent villas” in the city during the last decade, taking in account the multiple actors that have been involved in the process.
